Tom Arthur
President and CEO
Co-Founder

As President and CEO, Tom sets the vision and direction for OptTown.

With a background in Sales and a maniacal focus on customer satisfaction, Tom has successfully lead four companies – completing an IPO with one start-up, selling two companies, and turning around another that is on its way to profitability.

Prior to leading companies, Tom’s roles have included General Manager, Vice President, and Sales Manager.

Companies: ActivCard, Arbor Networks, Classic Technology, Novell, PhoneSpots (acquired by VoodooVox), and RedSeal Networks.



Bill Hunt
CTO and VP Engineering
Co-Founder

As CTO and VP Engineering, Bill leads the technical team and implements the OptTown technology solutions.

Bill has founded and/or been a senior executive at six successful software companies, each first and a leader in their space. Five were acquired by companies including Oracle, Avaya and Alcatel for a total of $500m. He has 12 patents to his credit.

Bill is a board member or advisor of several high-quality companies and is a mentor in a number of programs including 20 Under 20, Founders Institute, Mexican.vc, Startup Monthly and Hackers and Founders. He is an occasional speaker on technology and entrepreneurial topics.

Amanda Arthur
Vice President, Sales
Co-Founder

As Vice President, Sales, Amanda is responsible for adding both businesses and consumers to the OptTown network, and helping her fun & young team of Sales Reps do the same.

For three of her four years at Santa Clara University, Amanda served as a staff member for the orientation program, assisting freshmen and transfer students in adjusting to student life and learning about the school's history, resources, and mission.

Mixing her two favorite things: working with college students and spreading enthusiasm for something she is passionate about, Amanda had a blast launching OptTown at her beloved alma mater, Santa Clara University, and is ready to make things happen at other university communities worldwide!

Talents and passions include: USTA tennis, piano, dancing, singing, life-chatting, strange sound effects and faces, family dinners, and laughing.



Carolyn Rose
Vice President

As Vice President, Carolyn wears many hats, with early-stage focus on marketing, training, account management and whatever needs attention.

As an IT industry executive, Carolyn co-founded two companies and has been recognized as a pioneer for her seminal work in establishing the IT certification concept, business model and infrastructure that spawned the multi-billion dollar IT certification industry.

Previous roles include Senior Vice President, General Manager, Vice President, and Manager.

Companies: iGeneration, Integral7 (acquired by Pearson/VUE), Microsoft (consultant), Novell, RedSeal Networks and Schlumberger Technologies.



Paul Schaut
Director, OptTown Board

Private investor, board director, advisor and serial CEO experienced in public and private companies anchored in technology and the convergence of digital with traditional marketing and at various stages of company lifecycles. Current Boards include OptTown, Vivox, Zumobi, Pontiflex, Networked Insights, Omnilync and Modiv Media.

Paul brings more than 28 years of sales, marketing and executive management experience as well as a deep expertise in technology, digital and mobile marketing industries.

Paul’s portfolio of Board services help CEO’s and investors leverage his operational experience and network to assist in board and / or management alignment, business development expansion, M&A strategy and execution along with many other large and small challenges faced by CEO’s everyday.
